cargo terminal design services

Cargo Velocity's Strategic Planning Services can evaluate existing operational opportunities and threats, risk/reward potentials for possible infrastructure development and investment concepts, long-range business opportunity concepts, best-fit cargos for the operating environment and infrastructure, and strategies to transition a port to a less cargo-dependent operation.

Site/Operational Assessments (Due Diligence) Evaluations consider and examine possible risks and practical mitigations for cargo handling situations. Areas of study that our team supports include infrastructure evaluations, operational capability, efficiency of existing terminal operations, technical abilities of existing teams, long-range facility capacity, propensity for automation, and CAPEX/OPEX investigations for potential facility improvements.

Port Authority of New York/New Jersey, Port Commerce, 2012

Service: Port Scenario and Land-Use Planning
Role: Planning, sub to Futures Strategy Group

Stakeholder teams developed alternative expected futures based on global trends. We projected related port and intermodal infrastructure needs, and then identified the overlapping needs for all projected futures. We proposed these land use areas, roads, near-dock facilities, and rail for the PA's long range plans. Our work anticipated the risks for a "super-storm" well before Hurricane Sandy struck the area.
